Alberth Elis is heading to the Portuguese first division to join Boavista F.C., according to multiple international reports.
In the player’s home country of Honduras, the transfer is being reported as complete.
Elis will reportedly sign a four year contract with “The Panthers” and is expected to depart for Portugal on Wednesday.
Advanced talks between the Houston Dynamo and Boavista, a club that recently acquired FC Dallas and U.S. Men’s National Team defender Reggie Cannon, was reported on Friday by Ives Galarcep.

The Houston Dynamo and Honduras National Team forward has expressed his desire to move to Europe on numerous occasions.
His contract with the Houston Dynamo was set to expire at the end of the year and Elis was expected to leave as a free agent despite receiving “the biggest contract” offered in the club’s history.

In his four seasons in MLS, Alberth Elis scored 34 goals and provided 27 assists in 88 MLS appearances.
The 2020-21 Primeira Liga season kicks off on Friday when Famalicão host 37-time champions Benfica.
Boavista begins their campaign on Saturday as they travel to CD Nacional (16:00 Portugal; 11 a.m. ET/ 10 a.m. CT).
