Three thoughts ahead of the Dynamo at Sporting KC on the Kube:
1.) DARWIN QUINTERO
The big Dynamo off season signing from Minnesota United tormented Liga MX with Santos and Club America. He is expected to do that with the Dynamo and his ability off the dribble will unbalance defenses.
The Colombian was in full training this week so is tonight his debut?
2.) POSSESSION
One would not expect the Dynamo to get 60% of the possession which is what they had against LA. That means tonight the Dynamo will have to defend more on the road.
How do they handle that first big test in front of “Blue Hell”?
3.) 4-3-3
For Tab Ramos this aggressive, pressing tactical system and purpose of play is a far cry from the Dynamo under Wilmer Cabrera.
If you remember this was attempted early in the Cabrera era but ultimately the Dynamo reverted to being a counter attacking team.
This set up is exciting, leads to more play in an opponents half. It is also risky which means either Matias “The Controller” Vera and Boniek Garcia must provide the balance and put in out fires in the Sporting KC counter attack.
How will it be altered on the road if at all? This is intriguing!
4.) ANOTHER TOP LIGA MX STRIKER
This time it is Alan Pulido of Chivas.
Pulido is much different than Chicharito in that he can “create his own chances”, pull off center backs as a “false 9” or play right up against the last line of defense as an out and out “9”.
His ability to combine is at a high also.
His work ethic has been lauded by manager Peter Vermes.
Lets get your thoughts?
