George Longoria, a longtime security personnel at Houston events, is remembered by the community he served, especially during his time with the Houston Dynamo.
George was in security at BBVA Compass Stadium and many venues around town.
In fact, I saw him doing his work at many concerts over the years!
I got to know him over the years going to the stadium early for Dynamo games.
Seeing George was always a highlight. Always a smile on his face and always concerned about others.
He was the great part of the ritual for me when going to the stadium to do a job. The ritual is more than just players and teams, it is all the behind the scenes people like George that do so much for others and do it so effortlessly and selflessly.
I am heartbroken for George, his family and those like he has touched. I will miss seeing the smile on his face. BBVA Stadium will not be the same to me.
Our Club lost a beloved family member last night as George Longoria passed away. George’s warmth and kindness were always evident as he watched over the locker rooms and tunnel from Day 1 in 2006.
You will be missed, friend. pic.twitter.com/xHarQ81jEA
