Weekly Radio Show and Podcast

On the air since 2002, “Soccer Matters with Glenn Davis” is the longest-running English soccer program in the state of Texas. The show currently airs weekly every Monday and Wednesday at 6 p.m. on KFNC 97.5 FM — ESPN Houston.

 

Broadcast Career

One of America’s renowned soccer broadcasters, Davis was part of FOX’s 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ team.

Davis has called World Cup matches, Olympic soccer, and NCAA championships over the course of his 25-year broadcasting career. He is currently the play-by-play man for Houston Dynamo and Dash local broadcasts and University of Texas women’s soccer broadcasts on the Longhorn Network.

Playing Career

Davis played professionally as a defender in the United Soccer League during the 1980s.

Growing up in the soccer hotbed of New Jersey, Davis went on to play collegiately for the Davis & Elkins Senators before plying his trade in the professional ranks, most notably with the Houston Dynamos.

Coaching

Davis holds a U.S. Soccer “A” Coaching License and helped found the Houston Hurricanes Youth Soccer Club

Davis also helped to ignite a cooperative exchange between his youth programs and renowned Mexican academies Atlas and Monterrey.

Kick Cancer

Davis is a year-round advocate for pediatric cancer research

Davis hosts annual soccer camps to raise money for pediatric cancer research, currently raising money to benefit of the Snowdrop Foundation.

Honors

Davis has been honored for his career achievements

Davis has received many distinct honors, most recently being part of the 2018 Hall of Fame Class for his alma-mater Davis & Elkins College.
